W. Michael Schoff

Chairman

In his capacity as founder, Chairman and controlling shareholder of SGI, Mr. Schoff’s principal responsibilities include strategic oversight of corporate objectives, the master planning and development of real estate projects and providing general expertise relating to SGI’s private equity investments. He is also actively involved in creating financial projections, formulating structure and preparing market forecasting relating to all investment projects.

Under his leadership, SGI developed one of the largest, privately held self storage companies in the United States under the trade name National Self Storage. He was also responsible for the development of over 4,000 apartment units in Tucson and Las Vegas, in addition to over one million square feet of retail, office and medical office space.

Mr. Schoff graduated with a B.S. Degree in Finance from the University of Southern California and received his M.B.A. Degree from USC’s Marshall School of Business in 1970. During his undergraduate and postgraduate years, W. Michael Schoff worked for Security Pacific National Bank in both Branch Operations and Trust Administration (Audit Division). He was inducted into the Self Storage Associate’s Hall of Fame in 2011.

Ryan M. Schoff

President

As President of SGI, Mr. Schoff’s responsibilities include overseeing real estate development activities of the company, coordinating the acquisition and disposition of assets, negotiating financings, raising equity and providing investment analysis and asset management for SGI’s various holdings. He also shares responsibility for SGI’s cost management, financial planning, partner and lender relations, tax compliance, and oversight of auditing and litigation efforts.

Mr. Schoff is an officer and director of all companies comprising SGI. Having joined the company in 2002 as Director of Acquisitions & Business Development, Mr. Schoff has overseen the acquisition, financing and development of over $100M worth of real estate projects, including self‐storage, multi‐family, office, hospitality, residential and unimproved land. He held key leadership roles in the $217M sale of the National Self Storage Portfolio in 2005 and the sale of one of SGI’s apartment portfolios in 2006 for $68M.

Before joining SGI, Mr. Schoff was a financial analyst for J.P. Morgan Private Bank, and then for J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc. on the sales trading desk. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he was employed as a research analyst at Nicholas Applegate Capital Management, where he assisted in stock selection for an investment portfolio of global growth companies. Mr. Schoff graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston College’s Wallace E. Carroll School of Management with B.S. Degrees in both Finance and Marketing.

Dennis L. Winans

Chief Financial Officer

Originally retained as Tax Manager for Schomac Group, Inc. and its affiliated entities in 1987. He assumed increased roles in adhering to corporate objectives while working with principals and division leaders in financial and operational planning for SGI’s multi-family and self storage properties.  Appointed CFO in 1997 and formally installed as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2004, he retained primary oversight of all financial matters for the Company, its sole shareholder and related parties.

Over time, Mr. Winans’ principal responsibilities have included:
◦  Serving as officer and director of all entities in The Schomac Group of Companies.
◦  Oversight of holding company financial policies, operations and fiscal management of operating divisions totaling approximately 500 employees prior to disposition of real estate portfolios.
◦  Working with division leaders to establish management and operational strategies.
◦  Investment officer for Schomac sponsored pool of income properties.
◦  Ongoing asset management efforts for income producing properties.
◦  Negotiation and administration of property acquisitions, financings and sales.
◦  Initiation and management of lender and investor relationships – including loan and agreement management, lender workout strategies and partner capital calls.
◦  Raising financing from both debt and equity sources.
◦  Formulation and implementation of complex organizational and financial structures.
◦  Reviewing, approving and monitoring budgets at corporate parent, subsidiary and property levels; final approval of all financial statements and presentations.
◦  Development and implementation of individual, corporate and partnership tax planning and deferral strategies.  Supervision and resolution of all income and sales tax audits.
◦  Direction of litigation efforts – civil, minority interest and family matters.

From 2010 through October, 2014, Mr. Winans developed his tax and consulting practice as a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Arizona.  In November, 2014, he rejoined SGI as its Chief Financial Officer.

Dan Gallagher

Vice President of Development

Mr. Gallagher has been with SGI as Vice President of Construction since 2010. He is a licensed contractor and LEED AP. Prior to joining the team, Mr. Gallagher operated a design-build firm specializing in energy-efficient design; boasting a diverse portfolio of projects including custom homes, wineries, and commercial remodels.

In his position at SGI, Mr. Gallagher oversees all of the companies construction activities, across multiple asset types, primarily focusing on resort and hospitality properties in Northern California since he joined the team.

Mr. Gallagher acquired a unique appreciation of the Northern Sierra Nevada (home to SGI’s Nakoma Golf Resort & Spa and Feather River Inn) through field studies in pursuit of his degree in Biology and Forestry from U.C. Berkeley and several years of work in Forestry research and wild land firefighting on the Plumas National Forest.

Bryan Gershweir

Creative Director

Mr. Gershweir joined SGI in September of 2003, as an independent contractor. His first task was modernizing the identity of National Self Storage, which included a custom website, stationery and new advertising templates. In March of 2004, Bryan was brought on full time and placed in charge of all branding designs for the many entities of SGI. Most recently, he has become a specialist in social media marketing and online brand recognition strategies.

Mr. Gershweir has a long history with graphic design, page layouts, and interactive work, which started while serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Sun Devil Spark, the yearbook of Arizona State University. He followed that experience working for Tucson Lifestyle Magazine as an assistant advertising artist. While working there Bryan was encouraged by his art director to pursue special training at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco where he would finish his degree in New Media with an emphasis in Corporate Design.

Cindy Moos

Corporate Office Manager

Having joined the company in 1994, Ms. Moos has worked in various administrative support positions with SGI and its affiliates, starting with multi-family, then self-storage management, prior to transitioning to the corporate level in 1997. As Office Manager she provides executive assistance to Mssrs. Schoff, handling high level corporate and personal tasks including accounting and litigation support, assistance in all major corporate transactions, and shares responsibility for investor and tenant correspondence and relationships.

Ms. Moos enjoys the challenges of a changing work environment including evolving corporate initiatives, compliance, new development and the ever-changing acquisition and disposition landscape. Education and prior work experience enriches whatever comes next and, in her case, an Associate Degree in Lab Animal Sciences with additional work in Biology, Business, Accounting, Legal Assistance, etc., makes for a well-rounded member of the SGI team.
